Linefollower rules.

1. Definition

The task for line following robots is to drive through the track marked with a black line as fast as possible.
2. Conditions

2.1. The robots compete in driving through the track in one direction, which is indicated by the judge

2.2. Each team is given 5 attempts to pass the track, during 2 hours after discipline starting.

2.3. Robot have 3 minutes to complete the track. If robot that does not fit into this time frame will disqualified.

2.4. A robot that has lost track line can return back only at the place where it lost it or on the earlier part of the route. If this condition is not met, the robot will disqualified.

2.5. During competitions, team members can not touch robots.

2.6. The winner is the robot that spent the shortest time to overcome the distance.
3. Field
The track is a white polygon with a black line. Depending on the category of the robot, there are two version and different complexity of the track. Characteristics of the track:
- size of the polygon (mm) - 3060 x 1530;
- line width is 15 mm;
- the distance from the centers of the line to the edge of the web is not less than 20 cm;
- the route has a "closed" form;
- track contains one (Lego) or more (Free construction) 90 degrees intersections;
- the track is equipped with an automatic or semi-automatic time control system;
- distance between parallel lines is at least 10 cm.

4. Robot requirements
4.1. The maximum dimensions of the robot are 30 x 30 x 30 cm and mass 1 kg.

4.2. Restriction on structural elements. Robots must be without turbines!

4.3. Component limits:
- LEGO category - only components manufactured and distributed by LEGO are permissible. Only units, motors and sensors included in NXT, EV3, Spike or Invertor may be used in the robot construction;
- Free construction category - no restrictions, if not contradict paragraph 4.2 and clause 13. Appendix 1, the general rules of the competition.
4.4. The robot must be autonomous.

4.5. Participants have the right to make rapid changes in the design of the robot between the rounds (including repairs, replacement of power supplies, program selection, etc.), unless the changes do not contradict to the requirements of the robot design and do not violate the rules of competition. If a judge suspects a violation of any of the requirements of paragraph 4, an inspection may be carried out newly. In the event of an infringement, the participant will receive a warning. In the event of a repeated infringement, the robot will be disqualified from the competition.
5. Procedure of competition

Robots are registered and technical verified before the competition. During the competition, the participant in the "live" queue format comes to the line track and, after the judge's signal, starts the robot. In attempting the participant can perform one run. At the end of the attempt the judge fixes the result.
